Friends of Moor House

Friends of Moor House is a voluntary association, with no membership fees or obligations, for those with an interest in the School & College who would like to be kept informed of news and developments. Local residents with no family links to Moor House are especially welcome.

What we do

The association aims to help and support students and staff in various ways from expertise and advise to practical support. In our first term for example, we asked our members if any could help us find work experience opportunities for our College students.

And with the end of the academic year we have introduced two shields to be awarded, in the School and the College, to students who have shown especial merit in looking outwards to the wider community.

Members receive a newsletter each term and occasionally other communications.

How we are organised

We have a small Steering Committee which meets at present twice a year.

The Chair is elected by members, and other committee members are appointed by the Chair and the Governors' representative.

The current committee comprises:

  • John Stevens (Chair)
  • Donald Payne
  • Anders Stead
  • Clark Townley
  • Veronica Connery
  • Sue Brady
  • Jane Vallance (Governors' representative)
  • Helen Middleton, as Principal, joins our meetings and advises us, and brings other members of staff as she sees fit.

New members are very welcome

Many of our members are former students or their parents. Some are current parents, staff, or governors. And we especially welcome local residents and those who have kindly contributed to fundraising or other activities.

There are no obligations other than to provide your details and consent so we can contact you.

Please download the application form below and email it to info@moorhouseschool.co.uk or call us on 01883 712271 to request a form to be posted to you. You never know, you may be just the right person to lend a hand in a unique way that makes a significant difference to our students.
