This year’s swimming gala, organised by Mr Crowhurst and Hayley Chilcott, was a great success; thank you to all staff who contributed and all students who took part.

The sound of students and staff cheering and hollering was at times deafening and it was great to have the entire school coming together for this exciting annual event.

Mandela House took the lead in the early stages and managed to hold on to this and extend their margin as the gala progressed, despite a splendid effort from all the house teams.

The final results were Mandela with 142 points, followed by Obama with 127 points. In third place was Churchill with 112 points and Nelson came fourth with 108 points.

This year’s prestigious swimming trophies and shields were awarded to Christian S. for most improved junior swimmer, Sophie B. for best junior swimmer, the Outstanding Swimming Progress trophy went to Ben W., and finally James W. was awarded the Kevin Maunder Annual Swimming Shield, for best swimmer in Key Stage 4.

Well done everybody!
