Catering & Domestic Services Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and qualified Catering & Domestic Services Manager to lead both the catering and domestic teams, as well as being duty chef on a shift basis.
The catering team provides breakfast, lunch and supper for about 175 students, Monday to Friday and a small number of staff and visitors. The domestic team provide cleaning, housekeeping and laundry services.
- Leading a team of 18 staff to provide an excellent catering and housekeeping service across the site, including the school buildings, residential houses and sports facilities.
- Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and hygiene across all services.
- As one of a team of three chefs, preparing meals on a rota basis (with an early shift of 6.30/7am to 3pm and late shift of 3pm to 7pm) during school term-time.
Suitable candidates will have experience of sourcing food within budgets, and producing weekly menus accommodating varied dietary requirements within nutritional meal plans, and will ideally have experience of working within a similar environment. Excellent planning and organisational skills are essential, as is competence in compliance with all relevant health, safety and food hygiene standards. The role requires excellent management and customer service skills including the ability to motivate staff, induct and train the team as required.
A City & Guilds 706 1&2 or NVQ equivalent qualification is essential.
