David Taylor (MSc, JP)

After a long career in large public and private organisations in senior positions as economic advisor, management consultant and strategy director David has undertake a range of roles as a non-executive, including governor of a UK university and members of audit committees in a number of higher education institutions, and voluntary roles in criminal justic systems such as prison monitoring. David is married with three children and four grandchildren.

David has a business and Human Resources background, developed in the United Kingdom and overseas. He is passionate about the positive difference Moor House can make to people, having himself been a pupil at the school in the 1950s.

Veronica Connery
Trustee and Governor since 2007

Veronica is a Speech and Language Therapist and has been involved with Moor House since the 1960s and worked as a Therapist in the School for a few years. Veronica was heavily involved in setting up the Assessment Centre and in encouraging the School to re-claim the position of a leading force in Therapy for children with Specific Language Impairment.

Christine Coombes
Trustee and Governor since 2014

Career as a Speech and Language Therapist, most recently in East and West Sussex. Previously worked in London, Cambridge, Nottingham and Gibraltar. A specialist in Specific Language Impairment / Development Language Disorder in children and young people. extensive experience in diagnosis and intervention programmes for children with language disorders. Research experience with hearing impaired children. Worked at Moor House in 2003 - 2004.

Stuart Dennison

A qualified Chartered Public Finance accountant with a Masters degree in Strategic Business Planning. Before retirement, I had 25 years service at Assistant Director level with a London Borough with significant experience of strategy planning, managing operations performance and project management. I have substantial safeguarding experience and am a member of a Diocesan Safeguarding Commission. I have diverse roles within a church from being the Treasurer to training alter servers.

Andrew Dick 

Trustee and Governor since 2004

Andrew lives locally and is a retired chartered accountant with a number of charity interests he has been heavily involved in developing governance and long term strategies for School including the development of the Sixth Form College. He has worked with the Principal to focus the School on achieving higher quality education and better outcomes for the students. Andrew was Chair of the Governors and Trustees from 2008-January 2017.

Will Gunston 
Parent Governor since 

Is a solicitor. He is a partner at Dentons and specialises in debt restructuring, corportate restructuring and corporate insolvency. Between 2010 and 2012 he was a Parent Governor of Percy Hedley School, Newcastle upon Tyne. He lives in Lamberhurst, Kent with his wife and four children.


Lisa Harlow
Trustee and Governor 
since 2015

Has worked in financial services for approximatley 20 years and is currently Head of Institutional Relationship Management & Client Service - Europe at Vanguard Asset management, a US mutually owned investment company and one of the top three asset managers globally. She has worked overseas for 8 years including 6 years in France and two years in India where she ran Client Service and Operational teams for Fidelity International at their site in Delhi. Lisa has recently chaired her company's European Women in Leadership program which seeks to develop future business leaders and improve diversity rations at senior levels. She is actively involved in various deiversity and related financial initiatives in London and the US. Lisa is originally from Derbyshire but has lived in the Oxted area for 18 years.

Julia Irvine
Parent Governor since 2017

Julia has a degree in Computer Science, and spent her working life as an accountant and project manager within financial services both in the UK and overseas.

Originally from London she now lives in Brenchley, Kent with her husband, two children and many animals and now runs the family property business.

She is also chair of the Moor House School & College Parent Staff Association (PSA).

Sue Jones
Trustee and Governor
since 2014

A retired Headteacher of an Outstanding school. Experience in all stages of Primary Education, gained in schools in Surrey, Cheshire and Croydon. Also supported neighbouring schools in conjunction with Local Authority consultants. Sue now enjoys gardening, golf and grandchildren. She looks forward to supporting the continued success and development of Moor House.

Laura Middleditch

Is a Legal Executive at SEN Legal Ltd. She lives on the Essex/Suffolk border, with her husband with who she runs the family farm.

Roger McCorriston
Trustee and Governor

Roger has spent the majority of his career in the insurance industry living and working in London and Europe. Roger has also undertaken a number of Non-Executive director roles in a variety of industries. Most recently he was COO of a data company. Currently he is a Non executive Direct of a Japanese insurance company operating throughout Europe. Roger's voluntary work has included 5 years as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Heart of Kent Hospice in Maidstone. Roger has a degree in Politics, is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is a member of the Worshipful Company of Insurers - a Livery Company. Roger is married to Sue and they live in Oxted. They have three children and four grandchildren. He enjoys golf, tennis and skiing.

Jane Vallance 
Staff Governor 

Has worked at Moor House since September 2005 and has been responsible for supporting students across all key stages during this time. Appointed Senior Teaching Assistant in January 2009 and has managed the teams in both School and College. Currently based in Moor House College. Responsible for leading the support team and co-ordinating support schedules for both on and offsite provision.

Bob Perry
Trustee and Governor since June 2017

Currently a non-executive chairman of a registered financial services company after an extensive career as managing director of an independent brokerage. Bob will use his experience and enthusiasim to help with the development of confidence and preparing students for their careers after education. Bob has lived locally for over 30 years, is married with three children and two grandsons.

Meghan Donnelly
Governor Teacher since 2018


Meghan has worked ag Moor House School & College since 2015 supporting students in Key Stages 4 and 5 with Mathematics. She has degree in Mathematics (Honours) and a degree in Education with a focus on exceptional children and adolescents. Meghan has taught in state, independent and SEN schools in both the UK and Canada. She is excited to be part of the development, success and future of Moor House.
